Differences between keyboard layouts. What are their characteristics? Which one to choose?
W post-lease laptop one of the most important elements by far is the keyboard. You might ask yourself why? We are already translating!
Post-lease laptops come from different places on earth, and in turn each place on earth may differ in the layout of the keyboard, or in the markings of the corresponding keys. In this post we will try to explain to you the differences between the most important ones.
QWERTY
W post-lease laptops one of the most popular layouts is the well-known QWERTY. Nowadays, this layout is considered the norm, despite its unpleasant and inconvenient key layout. In Poland, it is one of the most popular layouts due to the so-called Programmer's Keyboard, which allows efficient writing in Polish along with our native characters (ą, ó, ż, ę, ć, etc.).). Unfortunately, however post-lease laptops with QWERTY-type keyboards do not have printed spaces that indicate the possibility of entering the Polish character. They are formed by the combination of two keys, which can be cumbersome to learn for people who are new to typing on this type of keyboard.
QWERTY UK
An interesting keyboard layout is QWERTY UK. At first glance, people using this type of keyboard may not even guess that there is something wrong with it. The differences are very subtle, and consist of shortening the left button in favor of placing the character there, and changing the places of some special characters. This is a small enough change that it should not cause problems with efficient typing, especially after setting up the programmer's keyboard in the system.
QWERTZ
The other very popular keyboard layout is the QWERTZ. This is the version used very often in Central European countries, t.j. Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary and Switzerland. From qWERTY-type keyboard differs mainly in the replacement of the Z Y key locations and the placement of some special characters. In Poland, it is known as the typist's keyboard, and its Polish variety had our native characters, making it unique. It is worth mentioning that not every qWERTZ-type keyboard has the same arrangement of symbols (brackets, for example). They may vary due to the preferences of the manufacturer of a particular post-lease laptop.
AZERTY
AZERTY is an arrangement typical of countries such as Belgium, France and Switzerland. Post-lease laptop with AZERTY keyboard is not so different from the standard QWERTY layout, while it may cause problems for those who want to use it with m.in. polish. The most recognizable difference of this type of keyboard is that AZERTY has the A and Q and Z and W buttons swapped. This is because these keyboards are designed to be typed in French. AZERTY keyboards also have special buttons for entering special characters just from that language.
Standardized keyboard
Buying post-lease laptop, you may come across a type of keyboard that you may not understand. It is about standardized keyboard. The name tells us that the keyboard has been altered with special stickers on the keys to replace the desired keyboard layout (usually QWERTY, since it is the most popular). Post-lease laptop with a standardized keyboard under the stickers can hide virtually any type of keyboard, so even if the standardized layout doesn't suit you, you can check what you have by default and go back to the factory one. It is worth remembering that post-lease laptop with standardized keyboard does not differ in any way from the art with the factory keyboard, and sometimes they look even better.
Which keyboard layout to choose?
The rules for choosing a keyboard are simple. First, check whether you are familiar with the keyboard layout and whether it will allow you to work comfortably. Second, if the layout is unsuitable for you, while the actual post-lease laptop is ideal in other respects, consider using keyboard stickers, which may be the solution to your problem.
